About the venue
The Ranelagh Club situated in on the Mt Eliza beachfront is a private, members club offering food, beverage & event services. Operating Wednesday to Sunday offering dinner service, lunch on Friday Saturday & Sunday and events such as weddings, engagements, birthdays, christenings, corporate functions and more. We are a close-knit, hands on team with a supportive and enjoyable work environment.
Hours of operation:
Wednesday & Thursday evenings. Friday, Saturday & Sunday - Lunch & dinner. In summer hours of operation will increase.
About the role
Working closely with the Catering & Events Manager, the key focus is to oversee and participate in the day to day running of the venue. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person who wants to work both independently and within a team.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Service – working in a rostered environment with various opening & closing procedures to follow.
- Management – ability to oversee and train staff, be responsible and accountable in absence of venue manager.
- Sales - including meeting with potential clients and converting into bookings.
- Hosting – being a friendly face for our member to be welcomed by.
- Support – work closely with the kitchen team and venue manager to achieve the best possible outcome for members.
Skills and experience

- hospitality experience
- the ability to work well in high pressure environments
- extremely high attention to detail
- the ability to work well in a team and be able to both give and take instructions
- good sales skills
- pride in their appearance and presentation
