Position Title - Account Manager - BUNNINGS

Reporting to - National Sales Manager

Job Purpose:

Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned area to generate new business for my clients products/services, through product education, promotion, merchandising and relationship building.

Accountabilities

Sales / Merchandising:

  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Quote prices, credit terms and other bid specifications.
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Demonstrates products for customers and is able to explain their uses and composition
  • Assists stores in merchandising our products to ensure maximum exposure and sales
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
  • Analyses the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the company.
  • Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services.
  • Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the state.
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.

Meet annual sales plan

By working with clients, Sales Manager and other reps to create account strategies, programs and promotions for existing and prospective accounts.

Measurable: Revenue and sales account increase

Educating/Training

By providing information on new products, training on new and existing products, presenting selling strategies and selling programs.

Measurable: Ensures that territory clients are aware and educated through clear communication.

Alternative Selling Avenues

By investigating different buying groups and industry segments to sell our products through and investigating rep agencies that call on different industries.

Measurable: Effectiveness of implemented changes and alternative selling avenues.

Reporting

By completing sales reports, call sheets and required reporting documentation and submitting on time to concerned parties. .

Measurable: Timeliness, completeness and accuracy of reports.
