About the Role

Our client is now seeking a tenacious sales professional to join their team, with the option of operating from Melbourne or Sydney. The successful candidate for this role will not be the average sales consultant. What our client seeks is a hungry business developer, with an unquestionable drive that is complimented by your ability to build rapport in quick time frame and close sales without compromising on making a positive, lasting impression. You will demonstrate a personable character and have exceptional people skills. This role requires extensive travel, including interstate travel on a weekly basis.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving high level targets and KPI’s, increasing the conversion rate from lead to a closed sale
  • Monitoring lead generator software for potential projects
  • Working according to company policy and procedure
  • Following through on sales leads through to a successful outcome
  • Traveling extensively to meet with clients face to face
  • Learn a new product range quickly in order to offer a solutions-based service and be able to make product recommendations
  • Assess workmanship in order to resolve quality issues
  • Building relationships with multiple prospect clients daily, within the building and construction industry
  • Follow the progress of projects from approval through to tender stage

To be successful for this role you must have the following:

  • Be able to demonstrate a competitive edge
  • Excellent people skills
  • Exceptional history of achieving sales targets
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a short time frame
  • Some understanding of sales within the cabinetry/ building and construction industry will be highly regarded
  • Strong business acumen, with an ability to identify potential clients of integrity
  • An ability to learn a new industry and product range quickly, in order to be able to deliver solutions and product recommendations to clients
  • Build lasting business relationships face to face in brief windows of opportunity
  • Be prepared for extensive travel, with weekly interstate travel
  • Demonstrated history of honesty, integrity and a high level of professionalism
  • High attention to detail
  • 3-4 years experience in a sales/business development role minimum
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to self-manage and be self-disciplined
  • Be team focused
