1932 Café & Restaurant is an Art Deco inspired café located in the arcade of one of the most loved architectural icons in Melbourne.

We are seeking a full time Restaurant Manager who thrives on success and loves working with people. You will be overseeing the daily operations of 1932 Café and Restaurant including our tour packages. We are seeking a talented and outgoing individual, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What the role entails:

Daily management and running the restaurant

Team management duties including rostering

Stock management and cost control

Coordination of our tour experience package

Organisation and audit of all procedures

Brainstorming new ideas to develop and grow the business

The ideal applicant will possess the following attributes:

Energetic with a passion for customer service

Proven experience in staff management in a café, bar or restaurant environment essential

Cash handling and solid front of house skills

Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent organisational skills

The ability to set and maintain high work and venue presentation standards

Strong leadership traits in order to motivate and create a positive, fun and professional workplace culture

Strong people management skills with the ability to develop and manage staff performance where necessary

Previous experience in preparing and maintaining rosters and conducting staff training

Detail oriented with excellent communication, problem solving and customer service skills

Available to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays

Knowledge of current food trends and the ability to manage food service operations

Awareness of OH&S legislation and the ability to create a safe environment for both staff and customers
