About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a qualified Cook to join our friendly and passionate team at our Lower Plenty Early Learning Service. Our Centre provides quality education and care to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. This centre has a fully equipped discovery playground designed to ignite learning outdoors in natural environment and provides all meals daily. This is a permanent part time role, working Monday to Friday mornings from 6.30 am till 6.30 pm.

Duties

• Plan in advance for the preparation of weekly meals and work to a food budget weekly
• Undertake menu planning and ordering of supplies through Coles online
• Ensure the kitchen is kept in a clean and hygienic state
• Identify and report any accidents or incidents
• Adhere to food safety standards at all time

Qualifications & experience

• Proven experience in a similar role in a childcare or large kitchen setting
• Previous experience in ordering and menu planning
• Statement of Attainment – Menu Planning for 0 – 5 year olds - desirable
• Food Safety qualifications such as I'm Alert
• Certificate III – Cookery in Children’s Services - desirable
• Statement of Attainment – Safe Food practices
• Current Working with Children Check

As part of our employment screening process you will be required to undertake a national criminal history check. In addition, there is a requirement to possess a current Working with working with Children Check or apply if you do not already hold one.
