The Company

Our client is a Not-for-Profit food manufacturing organisation located in the Western Suburbs and they are looking for a Food Quality Assurance and Safety Officer to join their close-knit team. They provide nutritious foods to councils, hospitals and aged care facilities across Melbourne.

The Role

This role involves assisting and reporting to the Quality Assurance manager completing all tasks related to food safety and compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting and reporting to the quality assurance manager
• Review and report food safety procedures
• Liaise with suppliers regarding product specifications
• Assist with internal audit and supplier audits
• Assisting the quality assurance manager
• Maintain organisations quality assurance records to ensure they are up-to-date
• Assist in menu and recipe development and the launch of new products
• Assist in training production staff on new foods/products
• Design product specifications and assist with menu data-entry
• Support others in the organisation to ensure they are adhering to all quality assurance policies

Your Profile

You will need to have at least 2-3 years proven experience working within a food manufacturing company. It is important that you are committed to food quality and safety and have great background knowledge on current food compliance and standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a team player and has excellent initiative who would like the flexibility of working 7.30am-3.30pm.
