The Role

We are currently looking for experienced, speedy, well-organised, reliable & efficient Kitchen Hands (Kitchen Stewards) to join our CASUAL team here at Spotless Staffing Services, in and around Melbourne/Victoria
You need to be able to hit the floor running, thus suitable applicants MUST have a minimum of 12 months’ paid experience within Australia.

You will have proven experience and recent skills working in either: Hospitality/ Hotel venues, Corporate Cafés, Industrial Canteens, School Canteens/Tuck-shops, Event & Production Kitchens, Hospital/Aged Care and Virgin Lounge environments.

Ideal candidates must have the ability and desire to go above & beyond to satisfy their own personal, high work ethic, be able to multi-task, have a positive 'can do' attitude and approach, along with being a team player.

You will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Adhered to, maintain & encourage a clean kitchen environment
  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment, including dishwashers
  • Assist in the preparation of food upon chef's request
  • Pack down & deep cleaning of kitchens after service
  • Adhere to Food Safety & WHS Guidelines

The ideal candidate needs to have:

  • Extensive experience working in a Commercial Kitchen (min 12 months’ paid work experience in Australia) – Industry Training is desirable!
  • Current Food Handlers Certificate, not older than two years - SITXFSA101 or HLTFS207C
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Positive 'Can Do' attitude and approach to work
  • The ability to work under pressure in fast paced environments
  • A professional and reliable team player with a strong work ethic
  • A minimum of three (3) days availability during the week (Monday to Friday)
  • Ability to travel to different work locations with a flexible approach. (with own transport favourable)
