We are now seeking to appoint Catering /Laundry Assistants on a casual basis. Successful applicants must be willing to work in both Catering and Laundry areas, and work morning and afternoon shifts.

Location

These positions are located at our residential aged care centres in Liverpool, Penrith and Randwick and Waverley .

Key responsibilities

As a Catering/Laundry Assistant at SummitCare, you will be accountable to the Cook and Manager Accommodation and Services for the day to day management of kitchen and laundry duties. You will work within a team to deliver hospitality and laundry services in a nurturing and supportive environment that enables the wellbeing of our residents.

Qualifications

• Completed Cert III in Health Support Services (Food Services) or Cert III in Hospitality
• Current RSA certificate

Key requirements

• At least one year equivalent full time experience working in a commercial or aged care kitchen
• Knowledge of food preparation
• Knowledge and understanding of current HACCP guidelines
• Sound customer service and communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Willingness to complete training to develop knowledge and skills in aged care
• Experience working in a catering role requiring leadership of a team/staff
• Experience working in a commercial or aged care laundry
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player and work with a diverse group of people
• Knowledge of Laundry processes
• Knowledge and understanding of Infection Control processes
