ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a family owned business with a rich history of over 60 years commencing as one of the first industrial laundries in Australia and growing to a highly successful business now based in Warragul. With a focus on customer service, they provide industrial cleaning services, uniform/workwear rental and a cleanroom sterilisation for a range of clients in the hospitality, medical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and food industries. Their client base is found in regional victoria and central Melbourne and continues to grow with plans to further develop the business in the coming years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Currently they are seeking an experienced Production Manager with a passion for implementing change and continuous improvement. The person they are seeking will be a strong leader, someone that understands the importance of working with their staff to coach and guide them through change processes. An integral part of the leadership team, the role will have a strong focus on building capability and empowering teams with a direct focus on safety, people leadership, continuous improvement, production control, planning, budgeting and quality controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervision of 30 direct reports
  • Implement production planning protocols so all staff are engaged and working to the same goals
  • Ensure factory teams operate within a 'lean manufacturing culture' with overall responsibility for the day to day manufacturing performance
  • Implement safety culture initiatives with accountability for operational safety and environmental compliance across the business
  • Implement a continuous improvement program to drive out waste and reduce costs across the business
  • Prepare both expenditure budgets and capital budgets based on sales and efficiency improvements and ROI

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary education in Engineering, Process Improvement, Manufacturing Management
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing with prior experience in an Operations/Production Management role
  • Ability to demonstrate real production efficiencies and cost savings in a previous role
