The Opportunity

An opportunity has become available for an experienced oncology manufacturing pharmacist to be part of our aseptic preparation unit team at John Fawkner Private Hospital. This part time role will require you to work Monday & Tuesday 7:30am - 4pm, Wednesday 7:30am - 12:30pm and Thursday & Friday 8am - 3pm. Flexibility in additional hours at minimal notice will be highly regarded. There is also a requirement to work on the on-call roster. This position is available for immediate start.

Key responsibilities (inclusive but not limited to)

  • Manufacture and supply of aseptic and/or cytotoxic products according to Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines. This includes preparing, checking, packing and labelling of aseptically prepared products.
  • Dispense and check prescriptions (proprietary and manufactured medications) in line with legal and professional requirements
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary health professional teams to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients
  • Adhering to aseptic manufacturing standards, including performing equipment maintenance and cleaning.
  • General duties, including attending to client needs via telephone and/or email queries.
  • Assist with pharmacy administrative, inventory and quality tasks as required

Selection Criteria

  • Current and valid pharmacist registration with AHPRA

  • Demonstrated aseptic manufacturing experience

  • A positive outlook with the ability to think ‘outside the box’ and solve complex problems independently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail and precision in record keeping

  • Passion for good customer service with a ‘can-do’ attitude

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team

  • Hospital experience is highly desirable.
